Therapy with Richard
My therapeutic style can be described as collaborative, supportive, and grounded in care. I believe therapy should be a safe and non-judgmental space where you feel free to explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. Together, we establish clear goals that give direction and focus to our work, ensuring that therapy remains meaningful and tailored to your needs.
A central part of my approach is helping you feel understood, respected, and validated. I see therapy as a partnership where we work together to uncover underlying patterns, strengthen resilience, and develop practical strategies for navigating life’s challenges. Whether it’s processing grief, managing stress and anxiety, or navigating complex relationships, I aim to support both insight and real-world change.
My areas of interest include trauma, grief and loss, emotional regulation, and relationships. For couples, I work within the Gottman Method — having completed both Levels 1 and 2 and currently working towards full certification. This evidence-based approach focuses on enhancing emotional connection, improving communication, and building a shared sense of meaning in the relationship.
As a Christian Psychologist, I can also integrate a faith-based perspective into therapy when requested, though I respect and support clients of all backgrounds. My goal is to walk alongside you in a way that honours your values and empowers you to move towards greater well-being, growth, and lasting change.
