Therapy with Nereda

I believe success in therapy comes with a strong client-therapist relationship offering respect, honesty and professionalism while building rapport, and collaborating to establish achievable goals, support personal growth, self-awareness, adaptive function and reduced distress.

My approach is from an empathic, non-judgemental perspective seeking to make connections between current symptoms and daily difficulties, and life experiences that have led to driving negative ways of coping.

I am passionate about working with children and adults of all ages seeking support for exposure to complex trauma, suicidal ideation, affective and mood disorders, anxiety-related disorders, and behavioural and family system challenges. My client-centred approach puts emphasis on utilising a clients’ strengths to build skills, foster self-belief and improve function through evidence-based interventions. I offer a variety of expressive communication modes including art techniques, to assist in engagement and reaching a deeper understanding of the internal experience. I work from an attachment perspective with a polyvagal focus to develop or restore a strong sense of the Self thus boosting resilience to life’s challenges.

I specialise in EMDR, IFS/Structural Dissociation – Parts work, DBT, art therapy and mindfulness to bolster adaptive coping.
