Therapy with Isabelle

My therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, and developmentally informed by a combination of past experiences and current evidence-based practice. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where children, adolescents, and young people feel comfortable being themselves and expressing their thoughts and emotions at their own pace. I actively work with individuals and their families to ensure therapy feels empowering, and relevant to their everyday lives to help them best meet their goals.

I draw primarily on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as my therapeutic style. Using CBT, I help people understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and develop age-appropriate coping strategies to manage a myriad of challenges including anxiety, low mood, school refusal, bullying and emotional dysregulation. ACT complements this work by supporting individuals to build psychological flexibility, develop self-compassion, and connect with their core values.

My approach is strengths-based, creative and tailored to one’s developmental stage, interests, and needs. I am mindful of the broader systems impacting a person’s well-being, including family, school, culture, and community, and prioritise creating a inclusive and respectful relationship with my clients. Ultimately, my aim is to assist clients to feel capable, supported and confident in their own skills and life goals.
