Carolyn Hartevelt

Senior Registered Psychologist

I understand that life can present many challenges; if you are looking for a New Beginning, it would be a privilege to be part of your journey.

Therapy with Carolyn

I am caring, empathetic, and non-judgemental, and I provide a welcoming, comfortable and respectful environment where you will feel safe to explore and discuss your current issues and concerns. I will work collaboratively with you to establish your counselling goals and to work towards a positive outcome for you.

I am passionate about life balance and self-care, and I offer a holistic approach to my sessions. I explore lifestyle factors such as sleep, exercise and diet and embrace a developmental approach to my sessions as I believe that what you have experienced throughout your lifespan will have relevance on how you are managing and responding to issues and concerns today. My aim is to help you self-explore your current circumstances and to provide you with skills and strategies that will empower you to feel like you have a different approach and understanding on how to function in a better way.

I offer an eclectic approach to my sessions and tailor them to your individual needs. I use evidence-based therapies that will guide you in your experience and provide the skills and strategies needed for change. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Person-Centred Therapy, Schema Therapy (ST), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, EMDR, Trauma Focussed Therapy, and Christian Counselling.

I am a Christian psychologist and I have completed an Advanced Diploma in Individual and Family Therapy, Christian at AIFC. I do see and embrace clients from all backgrounds and religions, and I offer a non-judgemental approach to beliefs and values.
