The History of the Pain and Injury Clinic
This exciting new service was launched in September 2010 under the wise guidance of Professor Ashley Craig (CLICK HERE to find our more about Professor Craig).
Until the opening of READ’s Pain and Injury Clinic, there was a lack of specialised psychological services for people who lived on the Central Coast who suffered from chronic pain, especially pain related to an injury. The majority of patients were required to travel to Sydney (eg. Pain Management Research Institute at RNSH) or Newcastle (eg. Hunter Integrated Pain Services or the Hunter Pain Clinic) and forced to wait up to four months to be assessed and treated, and required to travel up to 2 hours to receive specialist pain assistance.

Our Clinicians
We have over 8 clinicians servicing the Pain and Injury Clinic. Each clinician is a registered psychologist with experience in pain and a range of other psychological disorders and difficulties.
